Ms. Watson, BIS CounselorHello! I would like to introduce myself. My name is Sonya Watson, and I am the Counselor for Bolivar Intermediate School. I am originally from St. Peters, MO, which is a suburb of St. Louis. After high school, I went to College of the Ozarks where I double majored in Psychology and Elementary Education. After graduating from college, I taught a combined class of third and fourth grade students for two years. I then went to Missouri State University where I was trained in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), also known as Non-directive Play Therapy, and earned my Master's in Guidance and Counseling. I have been a Counselor in the Bolivar district since 2001 and am blessed to work with such wonderful students, parents, and staff.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cuddling with my little dog Sadie, reading, watching movies, swimming, and of course eating ice cream. During the summer, you can usually find me in Branson, MO at White Water, Silver Dollar City, or Moonshine Beach. You might even find me rollerblading with my family. Thankfully, I haven't broken anything...yet. ;) Certifications: K-12 Professional School Counselor K-12 School Psychological Examiner 1-8 Elementary Education Teacher Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and Elementary Education (Double major) from College of the Ozarks (Class of 1997) Master of Science Degree in Guidance and Counseling (64 Credit Hours) from Missouri State University (Class of 2001) |
