Meet Ms. Watson, BIS Counselor
For BIS Students
|
Hello! My name is Sonya Watson, and I am one of the Counselors for Bolivar Intermediate School. This is my 25th year in education. I have been a School Counselor in Bolivar since 2001 and am blessed to work with such wonderful students, parents, and staff.
I am originally from St. Peters, MO, which is a suburb of St. Louis. After high school, I went to College of the Ozarks where I double majored in Psychology and Elementary Education. After graduating from college, I taught a combined class of third and fourth grade students for two years. I then went to Missouri State University where I was trained in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), also known as Non-directive Play Therapy, and earned my Master's in Guidance and Counseling. Something you will notice about me is: I LOVE animals, especially dogs. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cuddling with my little dog, reading, watching movies, swimming, and of course eating ice cream. During the summer, you can usually find me in Branson, MO at White Water, Silver Dollar City, or swimming at Moonshine Beach on Table Rock Lake.
